Hi, I’m Philippa - but please call me Pippa, everybody does!

I’m a freelance journalist based in east London, where I can mostly be found writing for the British Journal of Photography, the Guardian and the Guardian’s Saturday magazine. Or, outside of work, in a museum, charity shop or pub garden.

I graduated from Falmouth University with a BA in Press and Editorial Photography in 2014 and, after a several-year stint in communications, from City, University of London with an MA in Magazine Journalism in 2022.

In the same year I was chosen as editor of City University’s XCity magazine, and selected to take part in the Guardian’s Positive Action Scheme (people with disabilities). In 2023 so far I’ve returned to Falmouth University as a visiting lecturer, and been shortlisted in the student or early career journalist category by the Freelance Journalism Awards.

I’m always open to new opportunities, and have a broad range of interests across culture, the arts, work, tech and politics. You can find examples of my work via the links above.
